WELCOME
Smithfield Riverside is an ambitious regeneration plan for the area between The Darwin Centre, Roushill, and the River Severn in Shrewsbury town centre, led by Shropshire Council.
Currently in phase 1 and utilising Levelling Up Funding (LUF), the long-term aim is to create a modern and sustainable new destination to work, live and relax.
Construction on the first phase of the masterplan commenced in August 2024 with the demolition of the Riverside Shopping Centre. This paved the way for the creation of the new public space, Riverside Gardens.
